Welcome to this site, a mixture of images relating to Wolverhampton (Halfpenny Green) Airport. It is in no way intended to be a definitive record of all visitors, but will simply contain a selction of images taken by Robert Beaver, airfield FISO Brian Rawlings and myself (Paul Bunch). Please note this is not an official airport site, but is simply something I am putting together during my spare time. Updates to the site may be a little slow at times as we are not always around. Thanks for looking, Paul.
Most of the images displayed on this site are shown at low quality and at a relatively small size, although Im sure this is better than displaying watermarked images.
A large number are available to purchase as prints for private use. Example prices are shown below but many other sizes and products are available
This new collection will feature resident aircraft. As aircraft come and go this will not reflect current residents but will contain photos of aircraft that were classed as resident at the time the photo was taken.
Over the next month or so I aim to shake up the formatof the site very slightly. The galleries at the top will in future feature specific subject matters, ie CCAOU, Military Visitors, Events etc. Monthly visitors galleries will continue with the latest month always on the front page.
Various aerial views of the overall airfield along with approach shots of the various runways. All these photos have been taken over a varied timescale.
Every so often the emergency services of the local counties use Halfpenny Green as a base for a major incident exercise. These pictures are from the last such exercise held in November 2006.
Over the weekend of the 12th and 13th April Halfpenny Green played host to a 'Wings & Wheels' event along with a fly in by the Auster Club. This gallery is dedicated to those two days. At present it contains just images of visiting aircraft (all kindly supplied by Robert Beaver). Further non aviation images to be added.
On Sunday 21st September, Halfpenny Green Airfield allowed Wolverhampton & South Staffs Car Club to run a round of the BTRDA British Autotest Championship on part of the disused airfield.
In conjunction with this, an open invititation was made for pilots to take advantage of a reduced landing fee for an informal Wings Meets Wheels Fly In to come and take a look at both the airfield and the autotest.
We'd like to thank the many visitors that made it to EGBO on what turned out to be one of the warmest days of this years.
Currently this gallery contains selected images of EC135 G-CCAU the first Police EC135 in the UK and G-HEOI, Central Counties latest helicopter. With time we may add images of previous aircraft operated by CCAOU.
A collection of images featuring military visitors to Wolverhampton Airport. All these were in current military use at the time of their visit rather than historic or privately owned ex military visitors.
